当欣赏StarZ频道明年春季的新剧《斯巴达克斯：血与沙的传说》（Spartacus: Blood and Sand）时，你很难不想起电影《角斗士》（Gladiator）和《斯巴达300勇士》（300）。事实上，该剧将有厚重的「剑、魔法与动作」味道，这与他们的「血统」是分不开的－－创作该剧的Sam Raimi和Rob Tapert是魔幻与奇幻领域的一对黄金搭档，他们创作的《武神传说》（Hercules: The Legendary Journeys）、《武神公主西娜》 （Xena: Warrior Princess）一直为人们津津乐道。去年他们再度出山打造的《探索者传说》（Legend Of The Seeker）虽然赶不上前辈的辉煌，但也得到了不少人的认可。毫无疑问，时代在变，观念在变，观众的口味也在变－－《斯巴达克斯：血与沙的传说》没有《武神传说》的轻松，也没有《武神公主西娜》的幽默，有的只是惊险、刺激、飞溅的鲜血。在该剧的前三集中，故事情节退居其次，大量的格斗场面成为最主要的看点，其中又以发生在角斗场中的一对一角斗居多。该剧在拍摄手法上存在大量《斯巴达300勇士》的影子－－纯色的画面，慢动作镜头、混乱的打斗场面和绿幕技术的运用?！?#34880;与沙的传说》还充分利用了收费有线电视网不受任何约束的「特权」，脏话、粗话非凡多，比以脏话闻名的电视剧集《死木》（Deadwood）还要「脏」。斯巴达克斯将率领古罗马的奴隶起义，他的起义大军差点埋葬了整个罗马帝国，这是斯巴达克斯传说中的核心情节。《斯巴达克斯：血与沙的传说》无论怎么变化，都不会改变故事根基。这些或许不会在第一季中出现，但终究是要出现的。换句话说，我们完全可以预料到斯巴达克斯的命运，以及本剧的最终结局。
